Grandparents!
I do love it when Grandma and Grandpa come to visit! They are so much more fun then my boring parental units!
Grandpa's beard makes him look like a Pirate! But what I'm not quite sure about is why is a Pirate's beard fluffy? His is scratchy and prickly and quite distinguished. I guess pirates are just softer and more gentle people!
Grandma's pretty cool too, but for some reason, I don't get to eat any of the cookies or cake or pies she brings. That, if you ask me, is definitely Not Fair.
I thought grandparents existed solely to spoil me. Parents are so un-cool....

DangerSpencer!
Boo!
Yes, it's me again. And I'm creating yet more trouble! My latest, greatest antics now involve climbing on the table! Of course, with this face, do you think anyone could stop me?
Nope, they couldn't!
...and now, to kip and relax in my victory over authority!!!
That said, I don't do anything too silly. I'm a pretty careful little guy ... MOST of the time!
...or so they think!

Old Trains...
I think my favorite trains there though were the old ones. I don't know why, but they look kinda tough. They have this aura about them that says, "I'm a train; get out of my way!"
Even the ones that are "small" and "cute" look tough by comparison to some of these modern things. None of those harsh, boxy lines that you see on a modern train. It goes back to a romantic time...
...you know, like the spring of 2009 when the world was a much simpler place!

More Trains!
After trying to eat the Gingerbread town, I did get to see a bunch more trains! It was mega cool with all the engines running around the loops, pulling their freight! Ok, they were not quite Thomas, but they were cool!
Regularly, I had to stop and point out cool things to Daddy. Sometimes, he can be so totally un-hip about stuff, it's amazing!
Eventually, I had to teach another little guy how to truly appreciate the trains. We took to clapping when they went past...
And I even applauded their handling of the scenery!
It was like being in Downtown Chicago!
All hand made, all made from things found in the garden. I had this urge to become a Spencer-zilla monster and attack it, but that lasted only briefly...

Trains Galore!
I've been to the trains at the park numerous times, but over Christmas they have a special event. They have the indoor Christmas trains! And you know what? They look awfully tasty!
In fact, the first room was a city made of gingerbread! And it had Thomas' little engine friend Diesel pulling a train around it!
After trying to eat it, I moved on to the next room...

The New Year...
Ok, I'm now back and catching up on my blogging. It's been a fun Christmas and New Year's break...so where to start? As there is a lot of stuff, I should begin with the FUN STUFF!!
I got a train set for Christmas! Ok, it wasn't quite the BNSF or the CSX railroad, or even Norfolk and Southern -- but it was a Thomas the Tank Engine set and it's all MINE!
It fits nicely on my little city play mat, and is great for snarling all the traffic up! Thomas traverses the track making all sorts of "Whoo! Whoo!" noises. He's good at that. My other engine -- Spencer, named after me, of course! -- makes more of a "Choo! Choo!" sound.
I also got some books and videos. And Grandpa -- well, he got to spend a day with ME!
Which brings me to Elmo. He's now mine!
All MINE!
Daddy gets me a book about a personal penguin. Grandma and Grandpa get me a personal Elmo. Who do you think is cooler?
Also, there were lots of ribbons and strings to play with. I like ribbons and string and the like, so it was a blast. Lots of paper to crinkle. Lots of stuff to throw around!
I even got to help others open their prezzies. Now that was cool!
I think every day should be like Christmas. And if they all can't be Christmas, they definitely should be my birthday!
