Vegetable of the Year
...and the winner is... EDAMAME!
Wow! A bit of a shock win there. Broccoli was just edged out at the end! It was close, but in it just had to be edamame. Edamame is much better for throwing then is broccoli. I wonder if there is an Edamame Growers Association for me to send the award to?
Of course, there were some other nominations I received for this award. People such as "The Republican Party" (from a Democrat), "The Democratic Party" (from a Republican), "The Democrat and Republican Parties" (from an Independent) and "The Tea Party" (as they had a tea party and forgot to invite yours truly!) led the list. Unfortunately, after some investigation, I discovered that they were not quite vegetables! The jury is still out on "Wall Street Bankers", "People who drive and talk on cellphones" and "The Fox News Channel".
Fruit of the Year
...and the winner is... BLUEBERRIES!
No surprise, with strawberries and grapes finishing a distant second and third. Blueberries ran off with this award, as they provide both a delicious flavorful meal on the way in, and truly annoy the parental units on the way out!
Meal of the Year
...and the winner is... LASAGNA!
Oooh! I see some disappointment on Daddy's face here as Pizza came in a distant third. Fish and Chips was second, assuming that mommy eats the fish and I eat the chips!! Overall, it is the blend of meat (yum), sauce (yum yum) and noodles (big big YUM!) together that make lasagna the winner. Rumors are that there are vegetables in the mix; I hope those are not true!
Yummy Chips! |
Drink of the Year
Milk!
The only other beverage receiving any votes was water. Also nominated were Daddy's vita water -- which does have the advantage of providing me with a little plaything after he's done with it, Caffeine Free Diet Coke, The coffee I tried and hated, the English Tea I nicked and couldn't stomach, ...
Why do adults drink this stuff? |
Someone needs to tell me, why do people drink all those things?!?
Food of the Year
Is there any doubt? It simply has to be CRUNCHIES!
And, of course, it is.
There are two foods as far as I'm concerned: Crunchies and everything else. When it comes to everything else, they pale in comparison to Crunchies. Give me Crunchies or I'll Give You a Screaming Fit! I can eat Crunchies until there are no Crunchies left... I can eat them for breakfast, morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack, dinner, dessert, midnight snack and of course my 6:00am snack. And do it again the next day. I'm not sure what I like about them -- probably the texture and the crunching sound appeals the most!
Song of the Year
Elmo and the Goo Goo Dolls, "Pride". Huh? What do you mean, it was recorded years ago? 2006? Well, it's new to me and right now it's my favorite song. Elmo is simply fantastic in it. In fact, he should probably get an Oscar the Grouch for it!
Sesame Street is the coolest! |
Besides, it's not like Katy Perry actually writes her own stuff. Heck, she recycles stuff off of Daddy's old Frisbees -- er...CDs. It's not like she actually gets to be on Sesame Street meaning she's NOT cool!
Activity of the Year
Swinging! I love to swing. Back and forth, to and fro... It's quite relaxing and well, what more can a little guy ask for? It also taught me a few very important phrases, such as "Ready, Set, GO!" -- "Go" being the most important word yet!
HIGHER!! |
Sports Team or Sports Person of the Year
Well, this one was a difficult one. After spending many a Saturday and Sunday watching the Formula 1 Grand Prix, it must be Red Bull Racing for winning it all! I think most importantly, they beat Ferrari -- and while I do like the red cars, I much prefer the Red Bull ones. Not that I would ever drink any of the stuff, mind you, but still...
Besides, it was a great championship. With both Red Bull drivers going into the last race with a chance to win it all. Fantastic! Cool! Maybe next year I can drive for them!!
Toy of the Year
Buttons that I'm not supposed to push!
Anyone got a ladder? |
After all, everybody knows it is far more fun if you're not allowed to play with things and do. Buttons are no exception!
Personality of the Year
Is there any doubt... ELMO!
It is the happy cheery little red dude from Sesame Street that fills my day with happiness. I just love watching his little antics. And his singing and dancing. All are totally class!
Person of the Year
For this year, it must be ... Grandpa! I guess Elmo doesn't quite qualify, as he is a monster. And while some people do claim that monsters are people too, I think that would be like saying Parents are People too. A very dubious claim at best!
As usual, Grandpa gave me the best Christmas Prezzies. And they play with me. And they takes me to the park. And play with me. And push me on a swing. And take me on a slide. And take me on long walks.
Daddy brushes my teeth. I don't like that. It has become a sort of daily trauma. Nobody who makes me cry on a daily basis should get an award.
Mommy doesn't get the nod here as she sometimes brushes my teeth, but mostly, because she has decided to limit my blueberry intake. Three blueberries in a meal is an excuse. What am I? A Starbuck's Blueberry Muffin?!? (Oh, wait, the blueberry is singular for Starbucks...)
And the final Award of the Evening....
The Most Totally Mega-Cute Award!
Drum roll please....
And the winner is ...
ME!
Was there ever any doubt? I thought not, it wasn't even close. Honorable mention went to baby bunnies, but they aren't half as cute as me. And now -- they are fully grown rabbits, which means they have no cuteness points left at all!
So with that, I will be signing off until next year. Which, fortunately, has already begun for some of you....
