Doctor's Visit

After 1 month, they give you a checkup. So, I had mine -- I'm now 9 pounds, 14 ounces, 23 inches long and growing rapidly. Mommy and daddy had a bet as to how much I weighed. Mommy said 9 3/4 pounds. Daddy said 10 pounds. I didn't really want to play favorites, so I split it down the middle. Watching daddy gloat or mommy being smug just isn't for me. That said, I forgot to pee on the doctor today. This has kinda been a trademark of my previous visits.

After, we had a photo taken for my passport. Talk about a bad photo -- it didn't look at all like me! But we dropped off my passport application, and soon, I'll be hitting the beaches in Oz. Or the curry joints in London. Or the shops in Hong Kong....

Chick Magnet!

There is a definite advantage to being a chick magnet. You get lots of attention from the chicks! Today in the elevator, I had three lovely girls fawning over me. And that was cool.

And then, one of them told daddy -- keep drinking that coffee, you'll need the caffeine. How mean of her to imply I'm a bad kid! It's not like I kept the *whole* building awake last night -- just 3/4 of it!

First Reflections

While on my play mat today, I was rudely interrupted by another face staring at me. Of course, being *my* play mat, that just isn't cool, so I stared back at this stranger...

...and he continued to stare back at me! On top of it, he was almost as cute as me. He had this annoying habit of mimicking my every move in every detail, almost as if he could read my mind! This annoyed me to no end, so I took a swing at this trespasser, and landed a pretty good blow on him. But it didn't phase him. I'd like to say I knocked all his teeth out, but he didn't appear to have any; he must have been a real tough cookie. Eventually, daddy stepped in and separated us. I shook my fist at him, and this seemed to have the desired effect, communicating that this was *my* blanket and he was not welcome.

Fortunately, he went away and hasn't returned. The purple bird has come back in his place. I like the purple bird, he jingles when you hit him.

Party in My Room, 4:00am...

What is it with these old people and their need to sleep at 4:00am? That is when the party really should be starting -- I know, I started one last night!

So, 4:00am came around. I had just been fed, and decided that I wanted some action! So I fussed for a while, and nobody seemed to notice. Then I cried. And they all came running, and I *thought* the party was going, but no, after a couple minutes, they put me back down. This was repeated several times, until daddy decided to just leave the light on. Well, I know that where there's light, people gather and hang out, so I waited for a while. But nobody came. So I cried until mommy took me out to watch TV.

How boring these people are. How are they ever going to cope with me as a teenager?

Officially 1 month old!

Today I celebrated a milestone -- I'm now one month old! So, to celebrate, I asked for a martini. I got milk. I asked for a chocolate cake with extra frosting and nice colorful sprinkles. I got milk. I asked for a steak, medium rare, with all the fixings. Again, I got milk. I decided to just give up and ask for a glass of milk ... at which point, they decided to give me a bath.

Oh, the indignity.

There is a distinct problem with this communication thing here. For my revenge, I got to pee on daddy. And then poo all over the changing mat. They laughed with disgust and called it "projectile pooing". I'll call it about even. They sure need to work on this stuff before my first real birthday!

First Red Envelop...

I got my first red envelop today!

Not entirely sure what to do with it. I can't eat it. I can't wear it. I'm sure it's good for something -- I'll have to find out from the parents later on... In any case, I do like the color red, and the gold does highlight it nicely...

10pm, listening to David Bowie

Whatever I'm doing up at this hour I don't know. Trying to sleep on daddy while listening to David Bowie is a bit surreal. At least it isn't Duran Duran! Hey...it's not like I actually sleep around here. And if I don't sleep, you don't sleep either!
