Halloween, part 1

Halloween starts with pumpkins. Carving funny faces into the beasts makes them funny! I laugh at them. But Halloween is also a game, and I'm going to play one here! Can you guess which pumpkin is Mommy's pumpkin, which pumpkin is Daddy's pumpkin and which pumpkin is Spencer's pumpkin?

Of course, it's a TRICK QUESTION! They are ALL SPENCER'S PUMPKINS! Even the kinda sortta cute little one...

...but we can elaborate on that more tomorrow!

Sneer like a True Viking!

At least if you're a true Viking, you can sneer at all those Packers fans!

Hallowe'en Party!

Daddy's office had a Hallowe'en party, and guess what! Mommy let me go! There was lots of candy and many other kids wearing costumes! And, mommy took me trick or treating through the hallways where I got Peanut Butter Cups and Goldfish and Suckers and all sorts of cool stuff...not that I'm sure what I can do with all those things yet, but still...

And I got the most compliments for being the mega cutest baby ever!

Even though I was EVIL MONKEY!

Too Fast for the Camera!

Guess what this is!

Yep. It's me, finally avoiding the camera! Rolling off to the side so fast that the camera cannot catch up with me. But, in the end, it did grab a shot of me. I'm not sure what to do about it. Maybe when I get my top teeth, I'll use them to bite daddy's leg!

Laundry Day!

I found a new, fun place to play!

Yep, in daddy's laundry! He had just taken it out of the dryer and it was all warm and snugly, so I kinda wormed my way into it. Well, actually mommy deposited me into it and thought it was mega cute! I just thought it was FUN!

Snug as a Spencer in a Laundry Basket!!! Just don't get any ideas about giving me a bath!

Photos with Mommy....

Ok, so the Vikings lost. But it means I get to cuddle with Mommy!

Somebody is going to have to teach her about the Vikings!

Vikings LOST?!!?

No!!!
It can't be.
I'm sooooooo sad...

Brett -- how could you let this happen?!?

Jack'o'Lantern

Why do they call it a Jack'0'Lantern?

Is *this* a Jack'o'Lantern? Nope. This is mine! I should know, I watched daddy carve it. And if daddy did it, it's mine! This is most definitely a Spencer-Lantern! And why they named it after that kid I met in Brooklyn, I'll never know. Sure, he's scary -- but does he have a big grin and glow in the dark?

Nope. My Spencer-Lantern is far cooler!

Daddy and his Camera

Somebody needs to do something about this daddy and his camera thing. Ok, I'm in the middle of playing -- happily and quietly I might add -- and then what?

"Spencer! Look over here!"
"Spencer! Can you smile for me?"
"Spencer! Can you be cute for daddy?"

No. No. No. And to whatever else, No! Sometimes, I just want to play!!

Maybe you would get the message?

Obviously not....

Playtime!

I've been quite busy this week -- you know, with this "Halloween" thing coming up, I've been planning lots of tricks to play on the kids that come through. I'm thinking about hiding in the candy dish and when they go "Trick or Treat!" I'll just pop out and ... and .... Well, I'm not sure.

So, in the meantime, I'm getting much, much more agile. I'm sitting up for extended periods of time which means I can play! I used to just lie on my back, but now, I can grab things. You should see the things that I put in my mouth these days!

Being upright is by far my favorite thing. I'm just waiting to learn how to walk so I can go explore the shops down the road!

It's a Jungle Out There!

...and I've been attacked by a giant tree frog!

I'm not quite sure what to make of him. Sure, he's cute. But still -- shouldn't there be some form of protection for me and my little stroller against such a clearly evil critter?

The Little Drummer Boy!

I'm taking music lessons. Well, drumming lessons, actually -- daddy brought me home a large drum! It's fun to beat on it, making all sorts of lovely noise to keep mommy and daddy entertained. I can't believe they didn't get me one of these sooner!

I started out just playing it with my hands. It made noise.

But that wasn't sufficient. So, I took a spoon and really started to bang on it!

I just want to bang on my drum all day!!

Model Boy!

Mommy says I'm a model boy.

So, here is Spencer, showing off his new mega-cute sweater. It's clearly the latest in fashion, featuring a nice knit texture and a delicious tasting sleeve (which he sucks on regularly). He's sporting sporty baby socks which keep his feet toasty warm.

The comfy chair is from Babies-Iz-Me, with bright colors to keep a little guy entertained, and a body hugging, form fitting spongy seat to keep 'thy bottom at the peak of cuteness!

If only I had a nice glass of Chateau Meuuu Meuuu le Cow '09 to go with it!

A Baby Prison!

Can you believe it?

They erected a miniature Baby Prison in the kitchen! Now, I know that mommy and daddy have lots of things to do there, but still, throwing me in a little jail cell? They stand over me like guards, at times, even armed with kitchen knives!

Okay, yea, it is the kitchen, but where is my one phone call? My Miranda rights? The Red Cross packages? Huh? At least give me some pots and pans so I can MAKE SOME NOISE!

Winter means...

...that I'm going to have to look like an anorexic version of the Michelin Man?!? Wait, it can't be that bad! If I have to wear things like this, there is no way I'll ever get a date! The embarrassment of being seen as a giant deflated marshmallow takes any of this "romantic" notion that one might have about winter and makes it vanish...

If I could do something about this -- say, like, throw something round and cold at my parental units to express my dissatisfaction with this silly suit -- then maybe they'd listen to me! But sadly, I have the distinct feeling I'm going to get paraded around all the stores wearing this for the next 6 months of my life...

Good Eats ... Bitter Disappointment!

Daddy got home last night a bit early. We started to play in front of the television, but since nothing good was on, Daddy started playing back something that was recorded.

The show was "Good Eats".
They were doing ... A Real MAN's Breakfast!
Coffee. Bacon. Potatoes. Eggs.

Everything looked delicious. I could almost smell the dark brewed coffee coming out of the television. Then the bacon. OOOOoooooooo....I think that goes right up there with "Pizza" and "Ice Cream" as to thing I would like to consume. And when properly cooked (in a Waffle Iron, none the less!) it should be fantastic! Hash browns cooked in a cast iron pan -- which, would make an excellent noise maker, I'll have to keep that in mind -- crispy and looking fantastic. And lastly, two eggs... So, I now know how to cook breaky properly!

Following the show, Daddy sat me in my little high chair. I figured I was going to get REAL MAN'S FOOD for once. Alas, it was something green and mushy and I'm sure it wouldn't qualify as "Good Eats" no matter what you did with it. I cried. And Cried. AND CRIED.

So, Mr. Brown ... how about a show where you teach my Daddy how to make Good Eats for me?!?

Playtime!

Just a couple happy playtime photos. Yes, I'm an extremely happy little dude. And I do love my playtime. Laughing, giggling and abusing my toys makes for a great day! It's almost as fun as playing with my two Zombie attendants! Shame I kinda let them sleep ... I guess I'll just have to come up with a new Evil Plot...

Oops!

My plan to make an army of evil zombies took a bit of a turn for the worse last night. Sure, it all started out quite well -- feed at 10, a brief cry at Midnight -- but then something truly evil happened... I forgot to wake up! Suddenly, I found it was 5:00am and not only had I missed my 4:00am feeding, but I'd missed my 1:00am play date, my 2:00am stroll, and my 3:00am coddling!

Clearly, when it comes to being Evil, I need more practice! I guess I'll just have to fall back to my interminable cuteness!

Zombies!

Halloween is coming up, so I'm now in the process of creating my own army of personal zombies! Sure, they are really mommy and daddy who are currently shambling around in a sleep deprived state, but in honour of the season, it is definitely fitting! Take last night, for example...
Midnight: Woke up. Woke up Mommy and Daddy.
1:00am: Woke up. Woke up Mommy and Daddy. Made Daddy do my bidding for an hour.
2:00am: Went back to sleep.
3:00am: woke up. Made Mommy do my bidding for an hour.
4:00am: Went back to sleep.
5:00am: Woke up. Got Mommy to carry me around before falling asleep on her shoulder.
6:00am: Daddy's alarm went off. He didn't hear it.
6:05am: Made sure Daddy heard his alarm and started crying, loudly.
6:20am: Crawled into bed with Mommy as daddy departed for work...
7:15am: Demanded feeding from Mommy Zombie.
8:30am: Took short nap.
8:45am: Awoke from nap. Started pestering Zombie Mommy again... Just wait until Daddy gets home!
Now, I know what you are thinking -- it's just teething. Well, I've fooled Mommy and Daddy into thinking it's just teething as well. So when I have my own army of Evil Zombies, I'll take over the entire world!

Just More Cuteness!

A few photos of me this weekend. First, I'm about to head out on the town with Mommy!

And then me getting ready for dinner. Apples and Oatmeal, followed up with some milk! It is very important to eat a healthy balanced diet!

And finally, me pausing for a close-up...

Just some quick photos from this weekend!

Sitting on my own!

Just to let you all know, yes, I am now perfectly capable of sitting up on my own! And even sitting, I'm still totally cute!

(And to those out there like Mommy who say I look like Jabba the Hutt -- please! Equating me with an alien who won Science Fiction awards for "Most disgusting alien" is akin to Blasphemy! Just wait until I can walk and am able to kick you in the shins!)

Teething is HELL

Yes, I'm still teething. I chew on things -- rings, pacifiers, toys, mommy, daddy, my hand... Yes, just about anything that will fit into my little mouth. My favorite thing though is a good, old fashion ice cube!

But that said, I do have two little teeth now. I'm looking forward to digging them into my first pizza!

Which, for some reason, I think might be a while....

I'm now a slug!

First a lizard.

Now, I'm wearing clothes that make me look like a giant yellow banana slug. I think I need to have a word with mommy and daddy about "fashion". You might as well dress me in a Zoot Suit and give me white spats even...

Please, can I just go back to being a lizard?

Sofa Reptile?

Mommy dressed me in this funny green suit. I looked like a little lizard!

Then she plopped me down on the sofa. Then, I realized, I was now a Lounge Lizard!

I wonder if they'll get me a cool costume for Halloween!

Monday Night

On Monday, they took me to the doctor. He said I was cute. He said I was smart. He said I was 16 pounds, and over 27 inches long!

Then two people came in and shot me!

Ok, sure...I'm a boy in 'da hood -- but please! Shooting a little baby! Mommy said they were "vaccinations". They were NOT NICE.

So I was very uncomfortable. But Daddy let me sit up with him and watch some football. I got to see the Minnesota Vikings play some funny guys in green and yellow. I like Purple!

But I still DO NOT LIKE SHOTS!

Snug as a ...

...Spencer in a fluffy Duvet!

Now this is comfortable. Maybe this "winter" thing isn't so bad after all!

Birthday Prezzies...

For the Big Point Five-Oh, I got a gift! A brand new play mat! Daddy put it together and now I have a hip place to hang out. It's bright, colorful and contains a hidden message. Can you spot it?

It's also good just to hang out with daddy on. I can be just like him -- only much cuter!

Boy in da Hood!

There is this thing coming up called "Winter". Remember that stupid hat? Well, I sure do! But now that it is "merely fall", I get to be at least a little bit cool. So, I'm now a Boy in 'da Hood!

Yes, it sure beats those stupid hats. And to that end, I think I should do a little Rap.. Somebody needs to start the drum machine!

I'm 'da Spencer and Here is What I do
I sleep and eat and cry and poo
From time to time I'll even Rap Too!

Cool and Cute in a mega sortta way
I make the ladies cry so they all say
So let's get down and play play play

The Big Five-Oh pt. 3

Well, in the end they had a little party for me!

I got to play with a small cake, which, ended up all over the place. Playing with cake is fun! It makes me wonder, are you supposed to do something ELSE with it?

The Big Five-Oh, pt. 2

4:00am and I'm writing this while eating an early breakfast. I was hoping for ice cream, but as I'm unable to correctly operate the scoop, I'm settling for milk. I think I'll take a short nap and play with Elmo after this!

The Big Five-Oh...

What is all this big deal about turning .50? Well, I'm now set to have a mid-year crisis as I've hit the big Five-Oh... Who knows, maybe I can chase after a younger babe or get myself a red sports car! However, in trying to relive my youth, I did wake up mommy and daddy at 12:42am for a bit of playtime -- just like I used to do back when I was a mere 1/12th...
